We can divide these features into two categories: Automation and Integration.
Automation
When things get complex, many repetitive operational tasks, with low added value, tend to absorb energies that should instead be devoted to more strategic activities. It's the case, for example, of back office operations aimed at enrolling users in courses, keeping personal data up-to-date, generating periodic reports etc. In such cases it is very useful to have mechanisms that allow you to automate or simplify this kind of repetitive operations, that tend to unnecessarily waste a lot of your platform administrators' time. Forma is full of these "time-saving" facilitators, in particular:
- Massive Actions: they facilitate massive import and edit actions for users and course enrollments. They are essential, for example, when you need to change or resend the password to many users at the same time.
- Scheduler: it automatically generates and sends reports to administrators.
- Enrollment Policies: they are useful to automate users' enrollment to courses on the basis of organizational chart or language criteria.
Integration
It's also wonderful to be able to easily integrate Forma with other business systems, for example to import and export users to and from other systems such as HR management softwares. This is also important for simplifying or eliminating repetitive or useless activities that should be done manually. There are three solutions available:
- SSO: these are integrated mechanisms to connect Forma to other applications, allowing "Single Sign-On" login from other applications on which the user is already logged in, or authentication with the credentials of your google or facebook user. These things save your users from double logging in and from having to remember different credentials.
- Connectors: many things can be done without writing a single line of code and using the “I / O Task” connectors to create automatic import or export procedures. For example, it's possible to automatically import user lists received from the company HR management system.
- API: with a little more effort you can use a very complete set of "APIs", that is, of pre-set features that any developer can use to allow other systems to interact with Forma in real time and on practically all its features, in a totally transparent way for users. For example, you can use this to create a user on Forma at the time a user is created or updated on your ERP.
